What stays on this device#
Exchange credentials, layouts, chart drawings, templates, preferences and custom tools are stored in an encrypted device vault. A browser-generated device key opens it after the correct account signs in.
Signing in on another machine creates or opens that machine’s own vault. Clearing browser site data removes the current vault and device key.
Export a backup#
- Choose Encrypted Backup in the terminal.
- Choose a password for the exported file.
- Save the file somewhere you control.
- Keep the password private and available for restoration.
The backup contains private workspace data. Keep it private even though it is encrypted.
Restore on a device#
Sign in on the destination device, choose Restore Backup, select the backup and enter its password. Review the restored accounts and layout before using live trading controls.
Keep a backup of the current workspace before importing another one. A sign-in password, API passphrase and backup password serve different purposes.
How the connection works#
Exchange requests are signed on the device. Signed requests, API-key identifiers and responses pass through the terminal relay in memory. Community messages use a separate online store.
Read the data-handling notes for the limits of device-key protection and the roles of the relay and sign-in provider.
