Read the ladder#
The order book displays resting bids and asks for the selected exchange and instrument. Price levels, size and cumulative totals describe the current book snapshot and updates, not completed trades.
The spread is the gap between the best bid and best ask. Rows can be grouped into larger price increments; grouping changes the display rather than the exchange’s actual tick size.
Configure the panel#
Use the panel’s settings to adjust aggregation, depth and size display where offered. Base-asset size and quote-currency notional are different views of the same book.
Trading actions attached to ladder clicks depend on your configured controls. Confirm the active account and symbol before using them.
Check freshness#
Use the connection status and datafeed details to distinguish a quiet market from a disconnected feed. A heartbeat or candle update may arrive less often than book updates.
For a persistent gap or frozen ladder, check the connection and provider status. Avoid treating an old book as a current execution quote.
